Lorene Sibley

Lorene Sibley of Portage, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2023, at the age of 75. She was born in Bradley, Arkansas, on January 6, 1948, however, her father was unable to obtain record of her birth until January 17, 1948. She was born to the late Cecil and Gladys (Stove) Ramos.

Lori attended Kalamazoo Central High School. In 1967, she was united in marriage to Aaron Sibley. Together, Lori and Aaron share two daughters.

Lori worked many years as a cashier. This gave her the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. She made friends easily and was always there for a friend in need. Lori took pride in her appearance. She loved to look “sharp”. Before work, she would spend hours perfecting her hair and makeup. Lori enjoyed spending time with family, going out to eat, shopping, making dinner together, getting her nails done, reading her Bible, and praising the Lord.

Lori is survived by her children, Angela (Barrel) Hickmon and Arica (Tweedy) Sibley; grandchildren, Ryan (Shamya) Chance, Sr., Raven Sibley, Alexis Sibley, Alissa Hickmon, Alaeyah Sibley, and Ajadeci Sibley; great-grandchildren, Ryan Chance, Jr. (her pen pal), Jaiden Weakley, Landon Chance, and Ah’Legaci Sibley; sisters, Levordia Garza and her best friend and buddy, Christine Ramos.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Heaven Leigh Sibley; and her siblings, Olevia Pueblo, Leroy Ramos, Cecil Ramos, Jr., Victoria Allen, and Dorothy Pueblo.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Upper Room Cogic, 925 W Mosel Ave, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49004, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
