MATTESON, Loraine E.
Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Rose Arbor Hospice Facility. Loraine was born February 15, 1924 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Madeline Kloosterman Klimp and had lived in Kalamazoo for many years. On September 14, 1946, she married Edwin "Ted" Matteson and for 20 years they worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Kalamazoo before moving to Niles, where they owned and operated the Timber Lanes Bowling Alley for 17 years. They moved back to Kalamazoo, where Loraine joined Milwood Christian Reformed Church after Ted passed away. Ted preceded her in death on March 8, 2001 and was also preceded by her parents. Loraine is survived by her brother, Robert Rita Klimp of Kalamazoo; a brother-in-law, Holly Matteson; 3 sisters-in-law, Annabelle Chapman, Midge Meyle and June Powe; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, November 29, at 11:00 AM in the Milwood Christian Reformed Church, 3306 Lovers Lane, with Rev. Loren Kotman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice Facility or the Milwood Christian Reformed Church.
