Lon Allen Gerow

GEROW, Lon Allen
of Kalamazoo Passed away January 29, 2010 at his home. He was born May 31, 1950 in Kalamazoo, to Raymond S. and Elizabeth Ewing Gerow. Lon was united in marriage on May 3, 1975 to the former Kathleen Needham, who survives. Shortly after graduating from Portage Central High School, Lon enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and honorably served, including a tour in Vietnam, from September of 1969 until August of 1973, attaining the NCO rank of Corporal; a Marine through and through. He was also a member of the Paw Paw Rod and Gun Club for many years. Also surviving Lon are his children, Nathan Jessica Gerow of Gobles and Noah Jennifer Gerow of Lowell, NC; two grandchildren, Marshall and Gramm Gerow; father, Raymond Gerow; sister, Alison Knight; brothers, Kim Linda Gerow and Gary Joy Gerow; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Preceding Lon in death was his mother, Elizabeth Gerow; and mother-in-law, Donna Needham. Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 5-7:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where services will also take place, Wednesday, 11:00 o'clock. Burial will follow at 1:30 in Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of SW Michigan.
