Lois A. Versaw

VERSAW, Lois A.
of Portage Passed away September 6, 2011 at her home. Lois was born June 27, 1939 in Benton Harbor, MI to the late Ted and Wilma Schwarz Bizer. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ralph Bizer. After graduating from Ferris State University in 1961 with a Pharmacy Degree, she managed Bizer's Drug Store in Benton Harbor. She was united in marriage to Wally Versaw on August 16, 1964. They moved to Portage in 1974, where Lois worked as a consulting pharmacist at Gateway Treatment Center of Kalamazoo and raised three children. Later, she worked part-time at Western Michigan University Continuing Education. Lois is survived by her husband Wally, and their children, Karen Michael Stewart, Paul Lisa Versaw, Steven Amy Versaw; five grandchildren Corey Arndt, Taya, Natalie, Gabriel Stewart, and Ava Versaw. Family will greet friends on Friday, September 9 from 1-2 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 o'clock.
