Bangor, MI Died Friday evening May 11, 2012 at her residence. Lois was born March 27, 1928 on the family farm in Paw Paw, Michigan the daughter of Walter and Frieda Christianson Drenkhahn. She had been a Van Buren County resident most of her life. Lois graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1945 and attended and graduated from Parson's Business School now Davenport University and was employed with the City of Kalamazoo in the Police Department and office of the City Manager for 17 years, before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Walter Jr. and Robert, sister in law Shirley and her husband, Rex L. Rock whom she married August 26, 1950. Lois loved her gardens and flowers and spent many hours tending them as long as she was able. Lois also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and many other hand crafts. She loved her family dearly and was especially proud of all of her grandchildren. Nothing brought a smile to her face quicker than hearing 'Hi Gammies!'. Lois is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie James Willett of Bangor, MI; grandchildren Geoffrey Lisa Rock, Dillon Kelly Wick Drenkhahn Rock, James Lynette Mazo, Tim, Jesse Shannon and Samantha Willett and Audrey Ronald Jalbert; great grandchildren Jason, Markus, Alexis, Mark, Chander, Zephyr, Rose, Dalton, Mickey, Patience and Alex. Sisters in law Louise Drenkhahn of Pontiac, MI, Gladys Drenkhahn of TN and Ruth Dolph of MI; brother William Drenkhahn of Stoughton, WI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center, Bangor First Responders, or the Van Buren County 4H.
