Lois Emily Kelley

KELLEY, Lois Emily Kalamazoo Passed away Monday morning, September 3rd, at Park Place Living Center in Kalamazoo, where she resided for the past 3 years. She was born November 11, 1917 in Pontiac, MI, daughter of the late Fred and Emma Guisbert Hitchcock. She was a charter member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Portage, where she enjoyed attending very much. She graduated from County Normal College and then taught in a country schoolhouse for a time. She married Leland Kelley in Deford, MI, April 24th of 1942. He preceded her in death in March of 1995. Lois was also very active in the Portage Senior Center for approximately 20 years. Surviving are her children, Bruce Wendy Kelley, Mark Kelley, and Mary Alice Philip Cutler; grandchildren, Emily Cutler, Alice Cutler, and David Kelley; sisters, Leona Hitchcock and Beryl Krohn; and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding her was her brother, Fred Hitchcock. No visitation is scheduled. A private, family memorial service will take place at a later time. Arrangements are by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., Portage, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Lois?s name to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Portage or Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
