Lois Elaine Catalano

Passed away Monday evening, November 11, 2019. Lois was born February 1, 1944 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Henry and Grace (Boven) DeVries. She was a graduate of Mattawan High School and retired after 24 years with the Portage Public Schools as a bus driver. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, especially the times spent going out to dinner at their various favorite spots. On September 10, 1966 Lois was united in marriage to her loving husband, John Catalano who survives. Also surviving are her children, Kelly Gendreau, Shannon (Gary) Van Hoven, Kris (Kristen) Catalano; 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Alex, David, Kayla, and Kayleigh; a brother, Donald (Harriett) DeVries; sister-in-law, Gina (Dick) Beatty; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lois was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas DeVries. Services will be held at 4:00pm Thursday, November 14 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street. Friends may meet the family from 3:00-4:00pm Thursday prior to the service. Following the service friends are invited to join the family in the Langeland Family Center for a time of light refreshments. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
