Lois Jane Barbour

Lois “Jane” Barbour, 89 of Scotts passed away at her daughter’s home on January 3, 2023. Jane was born in Muskegon on July 27, 1933, to the late Frank and Henriette (Kuiper) Vryhof.

Jane and Boyd Barbour eloped in 1953 and they had two children, Michelle and Brian. She spent her career at Upjohn where she worked with product data submission to the Food and Drug Administration. Jane and Boyd were very involved with local disabled children and advocated for their attendance and fair treatment in public schools. Jane’s love extended beyond these children and to animals as well, especially those in need of a home.

Jane is survived by her children Michelle (Pete) Lowery and Brian (Wanda) Barbour, her grandchildren Jason (Amanda), Tiffany, Tia (Todd), Josh (Monica), Matthew (Kristina), David (Katy), Samuel (Nicole), Mark, and Rachael; her great-grandchildren Alerah, Mckenzie, Rowand, Cormac, David Jr., James, and Lilee; and her dear friend Barb Bender.
