AGEMA, Lois J.
of Portage, Michigan Lois Jacqueline Agema, age 87, passed away June 25, 2013 at Tendercare of Portage. Lois was born February 4, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Louis and Johanna Lenting Derksen and was a lifelong Kalamazoo resident. She was employed for several years at Midwest Fastener Corp. Lois was an active member of the Covenant United Reformed Church. She enjoyed playing bunko, shopping with friends but the most important part of her life was her family. On June 1, 1944, she was united in marriage to Paul Agema, who preceded her in death on April 3, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Elaine Buck. Surviving are 2 daughters and 2 sons, Larry Barb Agema of Portage, Debbie Agema of Kalamazoo, Vickie Randy Phillips of Schoolcraft and Paul Lisa Agema of Portage; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, a special niece, Sandi Ken Schauer. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 1st at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Memorial contributions in Lois' memory may be made to the Residential Opportunities, Inc.
