FOWLER, Lloyd A.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Friday afternoon, March 7, 2008. Lloyd was born in 1928 in Plainwell, the son of Lloyd and Clarissa Curtiss Fowler and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. After graduating from State High, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946-49 in China as a flight radar radio operator. A graduate of Kalamazoo College, he retired from Fidelity Federal Savings Bank as Vice-President of Mortgage Lending in 1991. Lloyd was a 20 gallon blood donor, attended Faith Reformed Church, was a board member/treasurer of the local Home Builders Assn, member of Kalamazoo Assn of Realtors, member of Kalamazoo Management and Credit Assn, board member/treasurer of Kalamazoo Neighborhood Housing and director/secretary/treasurer of the Greater Kalamazoo Residential Review Board. Surviving are his wife, Janet Crossley Fowler of Kalamazoo; sons, Steven of San Francisco, CA, David Kathleen of Santa Ana, CA, Paul of Sequoia National Park, CA; step-son, Gary Jane of Tucson, AZ; grandson, Daniel; step-granddaughter, Coral and brother, Lawrence "Barney" Londa of Zephyrhills, FL. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 12 from 12-2 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday with Pastor Dave Bruininks officiating. Following services cremation will take place and a private interment will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Park Place Assisted Living Center for their loving and special care given to Lloyd.
