Portage, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Lisa was born June 10, 1983 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Ronnie Lee Gates, Sr. and Kathleen Brinkert and was a lifelong resident of the area. She had been a bus driver for the Kalamazoo Public School system and was very active as a room mother for her daughter's classes. Lisa is survived by her mother, Kathleen Capp; her father, Ronnie Lee Gates, Sr.; her daughters, Shania Garcia and Alexis Gates; her brother, Ronnie Lee Gates, Jr.; her grandparents, Jean Robinson and Ray Gates; her half-brother, Wiley Gates; and her half-sister, Ashley Gates. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Pastor Herb Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow in South Portage Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
