Lindsey K Smith

Lindsey K. Smith, beloved mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away at Ascension Borgess Hospital on Sunday, February 23, 2025. She was born in Kalamazoo to William Mark and Kristy Smith.

Lindsey grew up in Comstock and graduated from Comstock High School where she was on the softball and dance teams.

After graduation, Lindsey worked several years in manufacturing before becoming a caregiver for her mom. She took great pride in being a caring daughter, a devoted mother, and a fun-loving aunt.

Lindsey enjoyed shopping almost as much as she loved cooking. She took the time to turn plain ingredients and miscellaneous leftover into gourmet dishes she shared with friends and family. She looked forward to holidays when she could cook in excess to make sure everyone went home full. This tied into her caring nature and her willingness to help anyone in any way she could.

Lindsey is survived by her daughter Meya, stepson David, mother Kristy, brothers Kent (Emily) and Mark (Melinda), sister Sheri (Ray), and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father William, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.

Memorial services for Lindsey will be held on Friday, February 28 at Langeland Family Funeral Home 622 S. Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Friends are invited for visitation from 4 to 5PM and the memorial service will be from 5 to 6PM. A reception will follow the memorial service at Main St. Pub 5462 Gull Rd #5, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.

In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Lindsey’s memory by donating to a college fund set up for Meya, in care of her aunt Kelli Morrison, envelopes will be provided at the service, and a donation link will be uploaded soon.
