Kalamazoo, MI Died Sunday morning November 4, 2007. Linda was born July 6, 1943 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Raymond and Mary Gilliland Cowels. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. She was preceded in death by her parents. On August 14, 1964, she was united in marriage to Stuart E. Smith who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Lorraine Carl Berndt of Battle Creek and Lucinda Aaron Carson of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren; a brother, Edward Sandra Cowles of Kalamazoo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
