Linda Mason passed away peacefully under hospice care on June 19, 2020, at the age of 78 due to dementia-related complications. She was born June 18th, 1942, to the late Robert and Ann (Cromley) Paul in Niagara Falls, NY. Linda graduated from LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls in 1960. Linda then attended the State University of New York at Potsdam, graduating with a degree in chemistry in 1964. After working at Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan, she returned to school at the University of Michigan to complete a Master's degree in English, graduating in 1967. While at the University of Michigan, she met John L. Mason and was married to him for 52 years. After completing her Master's in Ann Arbor, John and Linda relocated to Kalamazoo, MI. While in Kalamazoo, Linda taught English at Western Michigan University, along with other technical writing positions. She completed her career working with children at Curious Kids in Portage, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Linda was also a dedicated volunteer for many years, serving Kalamazoo's residents at Ministry with Community, Meals on Wheels, and a local food pantry.

Her pastimes included a love of music and playing the piano, along with playing softball and following baseball. John and Linda enjoyed attending local theater events and symphony concerts, in addition to traveling to visit family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, John L. Mason, children Jane Ann (James) Simon, David John (Elizabeth) Mason, and her beloved granddaughters Kellyn and Delaney Mason, as well as extended family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ministry with Community or the Kalamazoo Humane Society at her request. Cremation has occurred and a family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
