of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Linda was born March 16, 1948 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mildred Phillips French. Linda enjoyed baking, painting, gardening, reading, and drawing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. On September 26, 1981 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Stephen Barker, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Cheri Charles Swartz, Chris Jeff VonSprecken, Kelly Wharton Gary Goff, Jason Veronica Barker, Robert Pearson, and Ashly Pearson; grandchildren, Scott, Bryan, Steven, Cory, Andrew, Aaron, Ethan, Jesica, Bobby, Adam, and Kenny; great-grandchildren, Ava and Zack; 2 brothers, Dennis Jackie French, Phil Leva French; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held Saturday, January 26 at 11:00 am at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a scholarship fund for Ashly. Please make checks payable to Stephen Barker.
