of Baldwin, Michigan
formerly of Mattawan Lillian passed away Monday evening, February 11, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was born March 28, 1948 in Lawrence, MI, the daughter of Lyle and Alice Doolittle Wood. On February 23, 1968, she was united in marriage to Clyde E. Spohn. Lil was employed by the Kalamazoo Public Schools as their transportation supervisor for over 30 years until her retirement. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Clyde; their two daughters, Patricia Milam of Mattawan and Pamela Tim Morgan of Battle Creek; six grandchildren, Crystal Gillem, Angelina Spohn, Emily Milam, Gavin Milam, Ronald Milam and Ryan Town; one great-granddaughter, Jade Thompson; five sisters, Joan Robinson, Lylia Blue, Louise Darryl Pountain, Shirley Otto and Shelley Noyes; one brother, Lyle Jr. Pat Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her father, Lyle Wood Sr.; mother, Alice Wood; step-mother, Belva Wood McKinney; sister, Sandra Hoffman and brother, Otis Springer. Funeral services for Lil will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center, Michigan Heart Fund or American Diabetes Association.
