Brown, Lewis Adam
Was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, at home. Lewis was born April 28, 2017, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Adam and Emily (Mejeur) Brown. Defying all the odds, he was a born fighter from the start and lived into his name, Lewis, which means "famous warrior". He melted hearts with his smiles and coos, and loved being kissed and snuggled. He especially loved hearing his favorite song, "Jesus Loves Me," sung by his adoring big sister. He taught so much to those who knew him during his 14 short weeks of life. Surviving are his parents, Adam and Emily; sister, Clara Kay; grandparents, Brenda Mejeur, and Lori and Bob Brown; great-grandparents, Dorothy Mejeur, Lorraine Vlietstra, and Glenn and Nel Vlietstra; aunts and uncles, Ryan (Dinorah) Mejeur, Jonathan Mejeur, Laura Mejeur, Jozlynn Mejeur, Briona Mejeur, Abigail (Dan) Preston, and Alexa Brown; cousins, William Mejeur, Caden Preston, and Sienna Preston. Lewis was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tim Mejeur; great-grandparents, John Mejeur, Lorraine and Melvin Brown, Charles and Eva Muvrin, and great uncle, Chuck Muvrin. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 12, at 11:00am at The Bridge, 7200 Angling Road, Portage, with Pastor Jeff Wenke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Living Waters and Alternatives of Kalamazoo. Services provided by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel.
