JOHNSON, LeRoy Rev.
of Richland, Michigan Rev. LeRoy Johnson went to the Father January 11. "With eyes looking homeward to that place beyond the sky where Jesus held outstretched arms, it was time to say 'good bye". A man like no other, with a complete devotion to God and his family; the ability to keep smiling no matter how bad the situation. He served two Richland churches Yorkville Community Church and New Hope and was an interim pastor until shortly before his death; as well as being a teacher at Gull Lake High School for 24 years. After being widowed from his wife of 62 years, Lorraine Johnson, he went through several tribulations with his own health. His influence on all who knew him will live on.
Surviving are his sister, Eldora Thomas, three daughters Shirley Nick Scholten, Linda Johnson, Sherry Gray; grandchildren Karen Rod, Diane, Brenda, Deanna, Danielle and Mary; and great grandchildren Nickie, Rod, Samantha, Billie, Kyle, and Brooke as well as inlaws and their families. Memorial service will take place Saturday, January 17th, at 3:00 p.m. at Yorkville Community Church, 11523 East D Avenue, Richland, Pastor Shan Martin Officiating.
