Leonard, age 67, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was born on July 24, 1950 in Kalamazoo, the son of Leonard A. Schelb Sr. and Serena (Layton) Schelb. Len was a graduate of Hackett Catholic Central High Schools class of 1969. After graduation he worked construction for his father's company, Schelb Excavating. He later worked for Bailey excavating running heavy equipment. He enjoyed spending time with his family at their lake property on Wall Lake in Delton, MI. He was a loving, caring, hardworking man. Surviving are his daughter: Andrea (Mike) Jeanette; five grandchildren: Thomas, KayLeigh, Emma, Michael, and Aubrey; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; son: Leonard 'Lenny' Schelb III and three sisters: Cheryl (Linwood) Lawrence, Serena (Jim) Moyer and Deborah (Dale) Johnson. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Leonard's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Augusta Custer VFW Post #7956, 13540 W. M-96, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses to his daughter directly or by contributing to his Go Fund Me at https://www.gofundme.com/len-schelb-jr-memorial-fund .
