Of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Park Place Assisted Living. Leona was born November 8, 1919 in Pontiac, MI, the daughter of Fred and Emma Guisbert Hitchcock. She had been a Kalamazoo resident most of her life. Leona retired from The Upjohn Company in 1981. She was an avid genealogist, active in the Portage Senior Center, and a charter member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister Lois Kelley and a brother Fred Hitchcock. Surviving are a sister Beryl Krohn, a sister-in-law Bernice Hitchcock, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
