Leon Gerald "Gerry" Wilson

WILSON, Leon Gerald "Gerry"
of Climax Went to be with his Lord and Savior, March 16, 2012 in Kalamazoo. He was born September 12, 1929 in Kalamazoo to the late Leon and Lela Mikle Wilson. He was united in marriage to Patsy Chapman on August 15, 1954, who survives. Gerry served in the U.S. Air Force from September of 1950 until honorably discharged in April of 1954. He and his wife, Pat loved to serve the Lord at Prairie Baptist Church, where they were members for many years. Also surviving Gerry are his children, Karen Wilson of Augusta, Susan Gordon Kloosterman of Climax, Gerri Ann Wilson of Battle Creek, Jeff Denise Wilson of Galesburg and Mark Lorrie Wilson of Climax; 11 grandchildren, Patricia Jason Shanafelt, Jeremy Angie Kloosterman, Rebecca Kloosterman, Rachael Troy Bird, Jaimee Burt, Troy Jamie Wilson, Ben Wilson, Abby Wilson, Cody, Brandon and Kimberly Wilson; 6 great granddaughters, Mary Ruth, Emma and Layla Bird, Lily and Ella Shanafelt and Gracie Kloosterman; sister, Lois John Rogers; and several nieces and nephews. Services will take place Thursday, 11:00 at the Prairie Baptist Church, Pastor Tom Harrison, officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Prairie Baptist Church or school.
