Kalamazoo, Michigan Died August 11, 2008. Mike was born August 1, 1914 in Buchanan, Michigan, the son of Harry Boyce and Viola Williams Boyce. He spent his boyhood there and graduated from its high school. He graduated from Western State Teachers' College now WMU IN 1936. He was employed in the Berrien County Treasurer's Office until being taken into the Army Air Corps in April, 1941, where he served for four and a half years. On December 26, 1941 he married Adelyn Hussey in St. Louis, MO. On return from the service, he worked for Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan, then went into the retail lumber and hardware business in Galien, MI until 1965, at which time he sold the business and moved to Kalamazoo to work with the American National Bank, from which he retired in 1977. He is survived by his wife, Adelyn, two sons, Monroe Boyce of Holden, Maine; Harry Barbara Boyce of Maybee, MI; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Cory Pastotnik, Benjamin Betsy Foley and Suzanna. A memorial open house will be held Saturday, August 16 from 2-5 pm at Bronson Place, 1700 Bronson Way, Kalamazoo, MI.
