LaVon O. Mott

MOTT, LaVon O., Mrs. formerly of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Friday, November 21, 2008 in Grand Rapids, MI. LaVon was born September 2, 1916, in Boyne City, Michigan, the son of William and Ina Hettrick Kindy. She was employed for over 22 years in cafeteria service at Northeastern Junior High School prior to her retirement. For many years she was a member of the East Main Church of God where she had been an active member. LaVon was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henry Mott in 1971; by her son, Roger Mott and her siblings, Carl, Earl, Pearl, Elma, Erma, Margaret and Nellie. Surviving are her children, June Phillip Walter of Battle Creek and Ron Charlene Mott of Kalamazoo; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 26 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM. A private interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
