of Kalamazoo, Michigan Laurel Elisabeth Chapman Freestone of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013. She was born May 28, 1940 in Allegan, MI, the daughter of Laurence V. and Helen A Kwarnstrom Chapman and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. Laurel held many clerical jobs and was active in many areas at Bethel Baptist Church. On February 23, 1963, she married Paul Freestone, who passed away June 27, 2012. Surviving is their son, John Sara Freestone of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Carter and Hannah; a special friend, Laurel Ewaschuk. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Pastor Jack Roomsburg officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Green Bauer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Loaves and Fishes, or Reverence Home Health and Hospice formerly Borgess Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
