SCHNYDERS, Laura M. Kalamazoo Died suddenly on October 25, 2006. Laura was born November 30, 1950 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Ernest and Helen McMillen Long and was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. She was a graduate of Comstock High School, Class of 1968. Laura loved her job and was employed for 20 years at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek. She had served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Comstock V.F.W. Post #6252 and where she had also served as historian and veteran?s party coordinator. She was chairman of the Pallatine Breakfast at the VA Hospital and was currently president of the Comstock V.F.W. Pup Tent Celery City 2, Order of the Cooties. Laura was a mom and friend to all she met. On June 19, 1971, she was married to Donald ?Butch? Schnyders, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Carrie Schnyders and fiancé Jim Robinson of Paw Paw and a son Brian Lindia Schnyders of Galesburg; 8 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway with the Rev. David Bruininks of the Faith Reformed Church officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Comstock V.F.W. Post followed by a committal service at 3:00 o?clock at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the committal service should meet in the Cortege Assembly area at Ft. Custer by 2:45 pm. Friends may meet the family at the Comstock Chapel on Sunday from 5-8 pm. Memorial contributions in Laura?s memory may be made to the American Heart Association or Pup Tent Celery City 2 Comstock V.F.W
