of Climax, Michigan Passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Larry was born March 27, 1946 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late John B. and Mary Jane Meech Beck. He was united in marriage to Rita Wilcox on March 26, 1967 in Grand Rapids, who survives him. A Vietnam veteran, he was a member of the Portage VFW and the Climax American Legion. He loved vacationing with family and friends in Mesick, Michigan and the sport of drag-racing. He was employed with Humphrey Products as a machinist for over 35 years. Also surviving him are his children, Steve Jamie Beck of Kalamazoo, David Tory Beck of Jackson; grandchildren Nolan and Kennedy; step-mother Joan Beck; brother John B. Martha Beck, Jr,; sister Elaine Bob Drake and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved Rottweiler, Sadie. Services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Home, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street on Thursday, May 1st at 9:30 AM, Pastor Bill Chapman officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. The Becks will greet family and friends on Wednesday, April 30th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Climax Chapel.
