Kris Senft, 77, of Plainwell passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, surrounded by her children. Kristine Ellen Wolfe, known to her family as Kris, was born on June 10, 1947, to the late Al and Dorothy (Stredde) Wolfe. She was raised in Aurora, Illinois, where she graduated from West Aurora High School. She met her husband, Werner, in Aurora and they married in the summer of 1969. A job opportunity for Werner brought them to Jackson, Michigan, where they settled and raised three wonderful children.
Kris so fiercely embraced her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. As a stay-at-home mom, she took on what she thought would be a short-term cheer coaching position at Northwest Community Schools. Nearly 25 years later, she was proud of her contributions in building the program from sideline cheer to competitive cheer. She dedicated an unbelievable amount of personal time and finances to ensure the program had what it needed to succeed. She fully supported Werner’s passion for having animals that included dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, miniature horses, ponies, miniature goats, and a donkey. She welcomed countless stray cats that needed food and love! She enjoyed shopping and scrapbooking, liked to sew, cook, and bake, and was known to be highly organized and efficient. She loved spending time with her family and close friends. Known to her grandchildren as Nana, her love and support of everything they did was unmatched. She always put everyone else’s needs in front of her own. Her loyalty, kind spirit, giving heart, and caring personality will be deeply missed by those that knew her.
She is survived by her loving family; three children, Jason (Torre) Senft, Nikki (Donnie) Benn, and Cassy (Eric) Jorgensen; grandchildren, Cameron Senft, Avary Senft, Maverick (Karen) Benn, Maddox Benn, Dane Jorgensen, Abel Jorgensen and Judd Jorgensen; brother, Greg Wolfe; sisters, Karen (Mike) Acosta and Theresa Wolfe; sister-in-law, Ingrid Feiertag; nephews, Dan Feiertag and Tim Feiertag; her best friend, Linda Brunk; and her beloved dog, Aggie.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Werner; her mother-in-law, Emma Senft; brother, John Wolfe; and brother-in-law, Paul Feiertag.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life and burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan, will be held at a later date. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to City of Hope, Bronson Hospital, and Rose Arbor Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, support, and guidance throughout Kris’ illness. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Kris' honor may do so at City of Hope or Rose Arbor Place.
