Korvah J. Korti, 71, of Kalamazoo, MI, passed peacefully to eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Chris on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021.
Korvah's life began on November 12, 1950 in the village of Vezala, Lofa County, Liberia.
He attended elementary school at St. Mark's Elementary as a small child and moved on to St. Cyprian Junior High in Bolahun. He graduated from St. Augustine Senior High School, also in Bolahun, Liberia.
After graduating from high school, he arrived in Kalamazoo, MI in 1975. He aspired to be a priest and considered a degree in Theology at Kalamazoo College, but changed his mind and became a student at WMU and KVCC.
Over time, he studied Computer Technology, Marine Radio and Biology. He was also certified as a licensed Private Investigator.
Korvah began his working career at Simpson Paper Company and was promoted to Senior Foreman and also served as Trustee on the Union Board.
He retired from Securitas Security Services in 2011.
Korvah enjoyed his retirement by traveling and creating memories with his large host of friends and family. Korvah loved nature, fishing, eating and congregating with friends at his home.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Boffa Jaygbay Korti, and Father Baysah Korti. He is survived by his wife Cecelia Korti, his brothers Baysah and Julian Korti, his sister Morkulor, his children Korvah Korti Jr, Tamela Moore, Daniel (Irais) Moore, De'Lena Moore, Stephen Sando, Ralph Kemah, Princess Kemah, Jennifer Kemah, Faustina Kemah and Jessica Kemah, a large host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
