SHETTERLY, Kenneth G.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday afternoon, October 24, 2009 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Ken was born May 16, 1928 in Comstock, Michigan the son of Orville and Muriel Smith Shetterly and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. Prior to his retirement Ken was employed for many years with Saniwax Paper Company and later with Mastercraft. Ken was an avid deer hunter and fisherman with many trophies; and also enjoyed collecting antique bottles. On May 19, 1950 he was united in marriage to his loving wife of nearly 60 years, the former Margaret Williams who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Linda Bryan Lewis; grand-daughter, Liana Ralph Zerbonia; great-grandsons, Nathaniel and Alexander; brothers and sisters, Orville Shetterly Jr., Robert Marzee Shetterly, Eloise Bill Burggraff, Florence Try; and several nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Koetje. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Rose Arbor for the loving care given to Ken. Friends may meet the family Tuesday from 4-6pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick where services will be held at 11:00 o'clock Wednesday.
