SCHULTES, Mr. Kenneth "Gene"
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Wednesday afternoon May 7, 2014 at his residence. Gene was born February 13, 1941 in Kalamazoo, Michigan son of Vincent and Katherine Ridenour Schultes. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Fuller-Eaton Corporation for 25 years, then worked as the sexton of St. Luke's Episcopal Church for 20-plus years and retired from St. Luke's. Gene attended St. Augustine Catholic Church; he was a member of Paw Paw Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Bonnie J. Schultes on May 8, 2012; and infant son, Jeffery. Gene is survived by children, Vincent Joan Schultes of Norton Shores, MI, Jeanine Jon Potgiesser and Lynette Charlie Randell Schultes all of Kalamazoo; and Dianna Charles Crane of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Michael Schultes, Clairece Schultes, Katherine Schultes, Jason Schultes and Ariana Crane; a brother, Roger Jill Schultes of Mesa, AZ; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Rachell, Audriana, Nathan, and Ayden Schultes. Memorial services will be held 11 o' clock Tuesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be held in the church columbarium at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Heart Fund or the St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
