MARTIN, Kenneth V.
Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009. Ken was born February 14, 1933 in Manchester, TN, the son of Walter E. and Lila Lee McCormick Martin and had lived in Kalamazoo for many years. He was employed by the Eaton Corp. for over 34 years as a machinist and served his country in the United States Army. On July 22, 1955, he married Dixie Root, who survives. Also surviving is their son, Kenneth Guy Pamela Martin of Parchment; 2 grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Emmitt L. Martin of Kalamazoo; a sister, Judy Doris Daughtery of Comstock; a half-brother, Michael Guernsey of Parchment; nieces and nephews. He and his brother-in-law, Richard were known as the Law Brothers, touring for many years with Rem Wall and the Green Valley Jamboree, and were regulars on the television program. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 Noon in the Kalamazoo Missionary Church, 5045 E. Michigan, with Pastor Ken Smeader officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Friday at the church, beginning at 11:00 AM until service time.
