Richland Kenneth Wayne Faupel, 73, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Kalamazoo. Ken was born in Elkton, MI to Aaron and Fern Faupel. He had a 33 year career in banking with Michigan National Bank and was a member of Haven Reformed Church. Ken embraced his farming childhood and enjoyed working in his yard and garden. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Larry. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Faupel; two sons, Tom Michelle of Mason, MI and Ron Debbie of Henderson, KY; four grandchildren Kate, Nick, Hannah, and Ben; and a sister-in-law, Mary Faupel of Parchment. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 28 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 29 in the Haven Reformed Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd., with Rev. Brian Stone, officiating. Ken will be buried in Elkton Riverside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or the Haven Reformed Church Endowment Fund.
