Kenneth D. Davidson, age 89 of Kalamazoo, died on June 17, 2024. He was born on December 19, 1934, in Kalamazoo, the son of Hobart and Marion (McConnell) Davidson. Ken served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He returned to Kalamazoo where he worked at Atlas Press and Gibson Guitar. He retired after 35 years as a tool and die maker at General Motors. Ken enjoyed RV Camping and was an avid NASCAR and stock car racing fan. He loved fishing either on Lake Michigan or any of the local lakes. He was always happy to say “Hi” and meet new friends.
On June 17, 1953, Ken married Evelyn Pathic and during their 26 years together, they had five children. On July 17, 1982, he married Marie Mansfield, who preceded him in death in 2004. On September 8, 2005, he married Geraldine “Gerry” Taylor.
Along with his wife, his family includes his children: Linda (Jim) Dostal, Brenda (Larry) Davis, Randy (April) Davidson, and Bonnie (Jack) Cannon; his stepchildren: Jim Taylor, Earnie (Kim) Taylor, and Michelle Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Yvonne Davidson; his grandson Alan Davis; his parents; and his brothers and sisters: Robert Davidson, Dorothy Griner, Phyllis Verkow, Betty Simpson, and infant Richard Davidson.
Friends may visit with his family on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Location, 3926 S. 9th Street, Kalamazoo, where his funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Noon, with Chaplain Mike Kemple officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery.
