Kenneth Cunningham

CUNNINGHAM, KENNETH Ken passed away on Sunday morning, November 30, 2014 at Upjohn Community Care Center. He was born on May 21, 1930 in West Frankfort, IL, the son of John and Essie Downs Cunningham. Ken was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On April 21, 1951, he was united in marriage to the former Margaret J. Johnson. He was employed by Zurn Industries for 33 years and General Motors for 8 years until his retirement. Ken was also a member of United Steelworks Local #2-1010 for 22 years, where he previously held positions as President and Financial Secretary. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret Cunningham; their three children, Barbara Roger Osborn of Fulton, Joanne Bruce Nelson of Columbus, OH and Kenneth Cunningham Jr of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Margaret Cunningham; sister, Judy John Whittington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Clifford Cunningham, Floyd Cunningham, John Cunningham and Claude King; and three sisters, Leawanna Rice, Rosalie Darby and Eileen Cunningham as an infant. A funeral service to celebrate Ken's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, Dec. 4, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans.
