CRAWFORD, Mr. Kenneth D.
Vicksburg, MI Died Wednesday evening April 1, 2009 at home peacefully with family and friends. Kenneth was born August 19, 1929 in Gobles, Michigan a son of Ralph and Lucille Horton Crawford. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Operators and Engineers Union #324 before retiring. For 39 years, he and his wife, Doris provided loving care as foster parents. He was also a member of the Schoolcraft-Portage Eagles. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Donald and L.D; and 3 sisters, JoAnn, Elaine, and Luella. On April 28, 1951, he was united in marriage to Doris A. Hunt who survives. Also surviving, 5 children, Brenda Poulsen of Vicksburg, Paula Rusty Tinsman of Mattawan, Denny Crawford of Vicksburg, LaVonda Ken Stokes of Marcellus, and John Ulrike Crawford of Indianapolis, IN; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dan Dorothy Crawford of Schoolcraft; 3 sisters, Betty Hughes and Dorothy Jack LaCoss all of Portage; and Beverly Eastman of Galesburg; his dog, Otis; dear friends, Gary Diane Sherburn of Schoolcraft; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
