Kenneth John Betten, MD, age 86, of Kalamazoo passed away March 15, 2024.
Kenneth was born on May 24, 1937 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He loved sports and played basketball while at Calvin College. After graduating from the University of Michigan Medical School and completing his residency, he spent 3 years in the Army, serving at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. In 1970, he moved his family to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he was an anesthesiologist with Kalamazoo Anesthesiology PC until he retired in 1990.
Ken is survived by his wife, Mary Bowman; his son, Joseph (Mary Franklin) Betten; daughter, Kristen (Eriks) Mezsets; and son, George (Lisa) Betten; his brother Ronald (Norma) Betten; as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private interment will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christine Betten Memorial Scholarship at Calvin College.
