Keith Eugene Harris, age 86, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. He was born on October 19, 1938, in Kalamazoo, MI, to Preston and Vivian Harris.
Keith graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1956. A dedicated and hardworking man, he began working at a young age, first collecting eggs at a local farm and later working as a golf caddy. As an adult, he was employed by Eckrich and Eaton before becoming a skilled flooring installation contractor and business owner. As he approached retirement, he chose to work at Menards, where he enjoyed interacting with customers and making friends along the way.
Beyond his work, Keith was fiercely loyal and cherished his family above all else. He was a steadfast supporter of his children and grandchildren, always present on the sidelines and for events with quiet encouragement and unwavering love. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, golf, watching football, and hunting for rocks along the shores of Lake Michigan. In his later years, his beloved dog, Molly, became his constant companion, and he spoiled her endlessly.
Keith will be deeply missed by his children: Keith Michael Harris (Lu) of Australia; Kelly Frederick (Brent) of Portage, MI; Brian Harris of Boyne City, MI; and Jennifer McCulloch (Mark) of Saline, MI. He was a proud grandfather to Rachael Frederick, Nicholas Frederick, Emily McCulloch, and Megan McCulloch. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Poe (Ed); many nieces and nephews; and his former spouse, JoAnn Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Vivian Harris, and his brother, Larry Harris.
Keith’s legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
