Keeley Alan Stevens, age 67, of Kalamazoo passed away June 3, 2024 at his home. He was born November 2, 1956 in Kalamazoo to the late James Clare and Vivian Marlene (Searles) Stevens.
Keeley loved his job as a Sergeant Correctional Officer and spent 25 years working for Folsom Prison in Sacramento, enjoying every day of retirement thereafter. He was a man of honor, respect, and love, and was never afraid to speak his mind. Keeley was a man of uniform and served his country in the United States Air Force. He loved his family and friends and cared for them in their times of need. He was an animal lover, from his dogs to feeding apples to the deer. Keeley enjoyed nature and listening to the birds from time to time, as well as music and his nightly episodes of Jeopardy. He also loved classic cars and going to car shows.
Keeley was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Elwin “Buck” Bucknell; and brother-in-law, Larry Davis.
He is survived by his siblings: Warren Lee Stevens, Marlene Marie Davis, Wendy Lyn (Paul) Borgais, Char Phelps, and Tammie Ann (Kevin) Hourigan; several nieces and nephews; as well as three close cousins, Lora, Suzanne and Donna, and best friends, Fred, Ronald, and Jerry.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 4:00-6:00pm and Monday, June 10 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a service will begin at 12:00pm on Monday.
Interment with military honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012 at 1:30pm. Those attending are asked to arrive by 1:20pm. Following the interment at the cemetery, folks are welcome to gather for food and fellowship at the Comstock VFW 6252, 5990 E Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for this summer--date to be determined.Donations in Keeley’s memory may be made to the SPCA of Kalamazoo, 6955 W Kl Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
