Katie M. Ratliff

RATLIFF, Mrs. Katie M. Kalamazoo, MI Died Sunday morning February 24, 2013. Katie was born February 16, 1913 in Morgan County, Alabama a daughter of James and Trannie Pitt Washburn. She has resided in Kalamazoo since 1955, and spent the last three years in Borgess Gardens rehab and nursing home. Katie was married to Toney Ratliff for 49 years until his death in July 1981. She had five children, James Dwight Doris of Decatur, AL, Luther Wayne Mary, deceased of Kalamazoo, John Allen Janice of Kalamazoo, Wilburn Audrey Judy of Kalamazoo, both deceased, and Wanda Kay Harrison husband Dave of Clarkston, both deceased. Survivors also include 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Eunice Fletcher Hill of Decatur, AL; a brother, John Washburn, of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:30 Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
