Katie M. Allen

Passed away Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2024. Katie was born October 11, 1938 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Duane and Marjorie (Hamilton) Eckler. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

On June 28, 1958 Katie was united in marriage to her loving husband of 65 years, James Allen who survives. Also surviving are her children, Tim (Mary) Allen, Penny (Mike) Burns, Mary (Delton) Heckelman, Gary (Chris) Allen, 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Michael Eckler, Chuck (Donna) Eckler, Sue Keene, Donna (Jack) Patterson; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday March 14 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 S. Burdick, Kalamazoo, MI 49007 and from 10:00am-11:00am on Friday March 15 at the Milwood United Methodist Church, 3919 Portage Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49001 where funeral services will follow at 11:00am. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
