MOWAN, Kathern L.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2008. Kathern was born August 14, 1931 in Bentonville, AK, a daughter of Charles W. and Marie M. Shell Crouse and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for over 60 years. She had been employed by the Upjohn Company for more than 22 years as an accounts payable clerk and was a charter member of the Berean Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lorene Randall, Meta Crouse, Francis Mc Cully, Norma Fisher and Barbara Heckert; and a brother, Leon Crouse. Her survivors include her sons, Kenneth Karen Mowan of Kalamazoo and Kevin Elizabeth Mowan of Quincy; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley and Adam Mowan; her sisters, Maxine Bushouse, Doris Shields, Jennie Ed Knox and Jo Ella Crouse; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th Street with Pastor Steve Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. on Tuesday from 5-8 PM and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
