TOMANIO, Mrs. Katherine A. "Kay"
Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Monday afternoon March 9, 2009 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Kay was born September 25, 1919 in Peekskill, New York a daughter of Stanley and Anna Botas Duzal, Sr. She had made her home in Kalamazoo for the past 5 years after living in Miami, FL for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Tomanio; and her siblings, John, Annie, Mary, Margaret, Ann, Frank, and Stanley Duzal, Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Edith Duzal, of Kalamazoo; nephews, Stanley Duzal III Aretha of North Carolina, Larry Sandi Duzal of Kalamazoo, Fred Carolo of Deltona, FL; niece, Gay Ruggerio of Danbury, CT; and many great nieces and nephews. She was a recent patient at Tendercare Kalamazoo where she was treated lovingly by the staff. Kay will be remembered with great affection by her roommate, Lola. She had lived at Dillon Hall prior to that time and had friends there that she spoke of every day. Private services and burial will be held in St. Peter's Cemetery in Danbury, CT at a later date. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice Program. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Tendercare Kalamazoo and Rose Arbor Hospice for kind and loving care of Katherine.
