SCHLUKEBIR, Katherine
Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Katherine was born May 26, 1930 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Cornelius and Katherine Kabboord Moerman and was a lifelong resident of the area. She had been employed by the Upjohn Company for over 18 years and the Western Michigan University Catering Department for several years. Katherine was a member of Fourth Reformed Church. On September 21, 1951, she married Eugene Schlukebir, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2008. She was also preceded by her parents; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters. Katherine is survived by her children, Susan James King of Mattawan, Daniel Connie Schlukebir of Kalamazoo and David Kristine Schlukebir of Salem, CT; grandchildren, Eric Jana, Beth, Kalene, Chad, Jessica Brandon of AZ and Tom, of Baldwin, MI; great grandchildren, Trenton, Kate, Evan and Ayla; two brothers, Daniel Jesse Moerman and Adrian Virginia Moerman; nieces and nephews. Following a private family committal, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 11:00 AM in the Fourth Reformed Church, 6339 Atlantic Ave., with Rev. Don De Young officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Fourth Reformed Church or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
