DYSON, KATHERINE Katy of Portage, Michigan Katy passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2010 after living at Clare Bridge for the past year where she received excellent care.. She was born December 14, 1916 in East Chicago, IN, the daughter of John and Mary Forzan Siskaninetz. She retired from Peter Eckrich in 1981 after working 22 years, and prior to that she worked at the Monarch Mill for 17 years. She enjoyed gardening and yardwork, loved to travel, and often went dancing with friends at the local community centers. She was preceded in death by 7 sisters, Anna Meyers, Pauline Joyner, Mary Benakovich, Helen Barkovich, Sophie Card, Julia Sally Korstange and Martha Orzechowicz; 3 brothers, William, Nick, and Frank Siskaninetz. Surviving are her son and daughter, Larry and Sherry Grenoble and Cindy Dyson Welch of Portage; 2 grandchildren, Laurie and Michael Grenoble; and 2 great grandchildren, Jennifer and Monte; 3 brothers, John of Decatur, Paul of Lawton, and George Siskaninetz of Paw Paw, and many nieces and nephews. A gathering for friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 27th at 10:00am with a memorial service at 11:00am at the Lighthouse Community Church on 11th Street, Kalamazoo, MI. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Katy's name be made to In House Hospice.
