TODD, Kathaleen Sue ?Kathy? Kalamazoo Passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, April 9, 2007. Kathaleen was born February 21, 1948 in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of John D. and Ila M. Morrison Todd. She was a member of the first graduating class from Portage Northern High School in 1966 and attended Ferris State College. Her first job out of college was working for WKZO. Kathy moved to Palm Desert, CA, where she worked in broadcasting. Her boss then was Don Wilson, the former announcer for Jack Benny, and Kathy was able to meet a tremendous number of movie stars. Since 1995, Kathy worked at CL Mahoney Plumbing and Heating Company. This was not a job to Kathy but her calling in life. From her boss, Tom Calvey, to the staff and vendors, Kathy dearly cherished this ?family?. Kathy was dedicated to her work, always arriving early. Many appreciated seeing her greet them with a joke as they entered the office. She had a great laugh. Kathy was crowned Miss Posture Queen of 1965, had a passion for dance since she was a child that continued into her adult years, and she was a dedicated Republican. Kathaleen was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, a foster son, Roger Wild, several aunts and uncles, and a cousin. Surviving are: her mother, Ila Todd Hall of Kalamazoo; a sister, Judy Todd Johnson and her husband, Karl Freed of Kalamazoo; a foster son, Robert Wild of California; 2 nieces, Sonja Warnock and Renee? Warnock Kirkbride; 1 nephew, David Todd Warnock; 2 uncles, Paul Morrison of Kalamazoo and Dr. Robert Todd of Washington; 5 aunts, Liz Comstock, Betty Schingeldecker, Helen Snape, Marian Sillars and Fran Cote; 1 great-niece, Amanda Schull; 4 great-nephews, Cory, Connor & Casey Kirkbride and Aiden Langworthy; and numerous special cousins and friends. Services will be held 11:00 Monday morning at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., with Pastor Linnea Bailey Oswald, officiating. Entombment in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park will follow services. Friends and family will gather for visitation on Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Kathy?s family suggests memorials be directed to Goodwill Industries of Southwest Michigan, 420 E. Alcott St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
