Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Karl was born October 13, 1932 in Asbach, Germany, the son of Karl and Anna Blank Zeil. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 and became a US citizen in 1960. Karl worked for Kalamazoo Metal Finishing for many years as a shipping and receiving clerk. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, loved playing cards and watching the Tigers and Lions. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan R. Zeil on February 9, 2008; 2 sisters; and one brother. On January 3, 1959 he married Diann Sykora who survives. Also surviving are their children, Anna Don Hamming and Linda Skip Wooden all of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM in the Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 E. Main St. with Pastor John Kepler officiating. Interment will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway on Thursday from 6-8 PM.
