KUIPER, Kari Lyn
of Kalamazoo Kari was born April 3, 1963, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of James and Roselyn Thomas Buell; and passed away November 15, 2011, in Kalamazoo. She was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School. On May 11, 1985, she was united in marriage to Michael Kuiper. Kari has been employed since January of 1985 with Pfizer in Customer Service. For the past 19 years she had been an active volunteer with Westwood Little League, as team mother, concession stand coordinator, board vice-president and president. At the same time she was also an active volunteer with the Softball World Series program in Kalamazoo and was still currently serving on the administrative staff. She was always involved in Westwood Fire Department Ice Cream Social event each year. The most important part of Kari's life was her family. Surviving are her husband, Michael Kuiper; their son, Brad Lyndsey Kuiper of Kalamazoo; their daughter, Leslie Kuiper of Kalamazoo; their grandson, Camden; her mother, Roselyn Buell of Kalamazoo, two sisters, Juli Mathias of Kalamazoo and Cristy Abbott Dan Merchant of Kalamazoo; nieces and nephews. Kari was preceded in death by her father in 1997. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, November 18th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where a service to celebrate Kari's life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 19th with Pastor David Sidwell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest South Cemetery. Memorials in Kari's memory may be directed to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation.
