MAYETTE, Karen Lee
Portage, Michigan Passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at home with her family by her side. Karen was born November 2, 1942 in Munising, the daughter of Leland Wilbur and Helen Ann Kolinske Arman and been a resident of the Portage area for several years. She was employed by Graff Trucking for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, an avid gardener, member of Curves and the Women's Chapter of the Moose Lodge. Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her father. On August 11, 1962, she married Roger Mayette, who survives. Also surviving are their daughters, Kathleen Dennis Hass of Boyne Falls, MI and Brenda Ann Lewman fiancé Bret Furtwangler of Plainwell, MI; 3 grandchildren, Phillip Hass, Benjamin Hass and Brittni Lewman; her mother, Helen Arman of Petoskey; a brother, Leland Josephine Arman of Petoskey; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. on Wednesday from 4-7 PM and on Thursday, at church, beginning at 10:00 AM until service time. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Ave. with Rev. Fr. Kevin Covert officiating. Following the service at church, there will be a luncheon at the Moose Lodge, 9650 Portage Rd. at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
