Of Kalamazoo, MI Karen passed away Friday evening, October 16, 2009 at her home. She was born March 31, 1955 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late John and Norma Leinaar Booden. She grew up working in her family business Michigan Glass Company, and also worked at Big Lots and Russ' Restaurant. She was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church. Surviving are one sister, Diane Herb Cooley of Portage; two brothers, James Sue Booden and Richard Carla Booden both of Kalamazoo; nieces and nephews, John and Kristen Cooley and Ashley and Jackie Booden. Funeral services for Karen will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, with Rev. Wybren H. Oord officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society.
