June Elizabeth Mattingly, age 102, passed away January 30, 2020 at her residence in Portage, Michigan. June was born June 30, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Gordon and Clara (Freitag) Walper. She was a longtime resident of the Detroit area and relocated to Portage many years ago.

June was united in marriage to William O. Mattingly. She was preceded in death by her husband William; her daughter Diane Benedetti; her son Michael Mattingly; son-in-law Louis Kirschenbauer; her parents; her siblings Gerry Norton and Duane Walper. Surviving are two children Mark (Deborah) Mattingly and Maxine Kirschenbauer; five grandchildren Aviva, Lavi, Eli, Michael and Anita; a great-grandchild Gabby.
